North Fork Greenhouse

Our History

 

Founded in 1993 in a set of 1920s-era greenhouses, North Fork Greenhouse began as an unknown upstart. Today, we are widely recognized as a premier grower of Long Island’s highest-quality ornamental and culinary crops.

Our growth has been driven by hard work and sound horticultural practices. Just as important has been the dedication and support of family and friends who shared in the labor and helped shape our success.

In our early years, many retail nurseries were understandably hesitant to buy from a new, unfamiliar grower. A few took a chance—and were the first to discover that our Garden Delights truly sell themselves. Without advertising, our reputation for exceptional quality and reliable service spread naturally by word of mouth.

To meet increasing demand, we relocated in 2002 to our current facility, which blends advanced automated process controls with hands-on horticulture. This balanced approach results in healthy, thriving plants and satisfied customers. In 2025, we further invested in our future by doubling our propagation space, reinforcing our commitment to quality, consistency, and growth.

• We are a wholesale grower, selling to retail nurseries and garden designers. 

• The minimum plant order total is $750.00.

• Payments for plants must be cash or check. We can't accept credit or debit cards.

• there is a $45 delivery fee in Nassau and Suffolk County. Other orders must be picked up. 

• Deliveries to job sites are arranged where feasible on a case-by-case basis.

• Customers may pick up their orders at our facility on two days advance notice.

• Guests are welcome to tour our greenhouses by appointment only. 

• Visitors may not remove plants or labels from our greenhouse benches.

• Orders for custom-grown crops are accepted subject to space availability.
